Matt Miller has covered the NFL Draft for well over a decade at this point. From Bleacher Report to ESPN, he has always brought great analysis and insider information that readers and fans of the draft find useful. On Thursday, he and his fellow analysts at ESPN shared some nuggets they have gathered just two weeks before the draft, one of them regarded the Vikings.
The Vikings have the 24th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but it is just one of four picks the team has over the three days of the draft. They would like to have some added depth to their selections, and Miller hints at that in his notes for ESPN.
Miller writes, "The Vikings have only four picks in this draft right now, making them a prime trade-back candidate in Round 1. This would be an easy way for them to pick up more draft capital, especially if there are teams wanting to get back into Round 1 for a quarterback or a falling pass rusher. Should Minnesota decide to stay and pick at No. 24, cornerback and safety are areas it could address."
The team trading back would allow them to potentially get a handful of picks while still landing one of their targets, anyway. The potential for Derrick Harmon, Nick Emmanwori, Grey Zabel, Shavon Revel, or Trey Amos could all be there at 33 if they trade with the Browns or 34 with the Giants.
