Uniform No. 3 was worn last season by cornerback Deonte Banks, who agreed to surrender the number to the 10-time Pro Bowl, former Super Bowl champion who will be the Giants' starting quarterback this season.
It will be the third number worn by Banks in as many years as a Giant. As a rookie in 2023, Banks wore No. 25.
Salute to my guy & young star Tae Banks! Grateful for you letting me wear #3 King! Full of gratitude ๐๐พ๐๐พ @Giants

There is no word on what compensation Banks will receive for the accommodation, if any, but he will simply slide one number up the numerical roster this year to No. 2.

Over the 101 years of Giants history, No. 3 has been worn by 17 players, most notably kickers, including Ring Of Honor inductee Pete Gogolak from 1966-74.
