LSU basketball hosts two top transfer portal targets

According to a report from On3's Joe Tipton, LSU men's basketball hosted transfer portal targets Tajuan and Takai Simpkins for a visit on Tuesday.

The twin brothers played the 2024-25 season at Elon, combining for 31 points per game. LSU is looking to keep the good transfer portal news rolling after the Tigers added two transfers on Monday -- UNLV point guard Dedan Thomas and Mississippi State center Mike Nwoko committed to the Tigers.

TK, in his second season with the Phoenix, started all but three games and shot 42.3% from the field. The junior guard added 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals per contest. At six-foot-four, TK makes an impact on both ends of the floor.

A six-foot-five sophomore forward, TJ started in 12 games and averaged 29.4 minutes per game across 29 total appearances. He averages 14.6 points per game.

LSU head coach Matt McMahon continues to take a bold approach to recruiting the transfer portal following a disappointing season. Ahead of a season in which his job is on the line, bringing in high-scoring players like the Simpkins brothers would add to an already loaded haul.
