We're a week into the season and have a full schedule across the region.
The scoreboard will have a slightly different look this season. I will be highlighting some of the games to watch each week and will drop a couple of names each day, an honor roll of sorts, highlighting the standouts. The schedules will be here along with all of the Section 1, CHSAA and private school results.
We depend on the coaches to report games.
Our game coverage will land here, as well. I'll post a few thoughts from the games I'm watching and we'll add the photo galleries and videos before the end of the day.

Greeley starts fast, rolls over Mamaroneck
CHAPPAQUA – The importance of staying humble is a topic of conversation just two games into the new season.
And for good reason.
Greeley has already made a lot of noise. The Quakers opened Saturday with a one-goal win over Cold Spring Harbor and followed up Monday with a resounding 16-11 victory over Mamaroneck.
Consecutive wins over state powers will inspire headlines.
“We have to stay humble and keep working,” junior FOGO Luke Tavolacci said. “We have to come into practice the same way each day.”
Takeaways
Matt Byrne and Luke Dessi already have a lethal senior-to-freshman connection. They put Greeley up 4-1 with 2:50 to go in the first quarter. The Tigers were flat early and failed to match the level of intensity.
Mamaroneck opened last week with a loss to Half Hollow Hills. It’s early, but the 0-2 start has to be disappointing given the lofty expectations.
It was just one day, but Tavolacci was impressive. He was a role player a year ago. Tavolacci has solid wingmen, too, in Zack Klein and Spencer Kalish. They were relentless, winning 24 faceoffs.
Game ball
Dessi played like a veteran off the ball and delivered seven goals.

They said it
“We had some big wins against teams like Mamaroneck and Bronxville and Somers last season, but we also lost a game to Fox Lane, 3-2, or whatever it was,” Byrne said. “We have to kind of look back at the losses and let them ground us a little bit.”
“We didn’t really come out with a lot of energy,” Mamaroneck coach Jeff Barnard said. “That’s where our disappointment lies. We have to reel them in knowing every game is against a strong opponent. I think we just came into the season a little bit overconfident.”
