Juventus Not Changing Their Gaffer During the Break

Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli quickly nipped the rumors about a coaching change following the second collapse in a row. He spoke to Sky after the three-nil loss to Fiorentina.

“We all have to stay united in a moment like this. We’re very sorry for the last two defeats. However, we’re sure we can get out of his situation together. For sure with Thiago Motta.”

Juventus fell out of the top four.

“I wouldn’t say we have base or maximum objectives. We started our project from afar, decreasing the payroll and the average age. We have to focus on the Champions League race. Qualifying is still within our reach. It’s a delicate situation. We all need to row in the same direction.”

Giuntoli addressed the problems.

“In these instances, you need to analyze everything. The media were talking about the Scudetto two weeks ago. You can’t go from rich to riches to rags. We’ll take stock of everything. Conceding seven goals in two games after being the best defense in Serie A means that that we have lost balance. We have to recapture it.”
“It’s the first time we had two straight flops, as we generally bounced back. We have to take a look at every tactical and psychological aspect. The coach will handle it during the week. We’ll help him out.”

The boss stated he wouldn’t resign.

They haven’t had a proper midseason firing in ages. The lack of fight displayed on Saturday was even more worrying than what happened versus Atalanta. There’d be no alternative if they felt that the squad was no longer following the coach. We’ll see how pivotal the UCL is, as they might panic with a couple more duds.
