Jeremiah Fears noncommittal about future with OU basketball, likely headed for NBA Draft
RALEIGH, N.C. — Just minutes following Oklahoma's season-ending loss to UConn in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Jeremiah Fears had a message to share on social media.
He posted a photo to his Instagram Story of his Sooners jersey and the caption, "Ts really over good run 0."
Fears then, unsurprisingly, declined to comment about his future plans in his postgame news conference.
"I haven't talked about anything yet," Fears said after his 20-point performance against the Huskies. "Speak further after this with the coaches and eventually my parents and just see what the next step is."
OU coach Porter Moser has often said if one of his players has a first-round draft grade he'd encourage them to enter. Fears is projected as the No. 11 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft in ESPN's latest mock.

Fresh of a loss, Moser wouldn't say definitively what his message will be to Fears.
"I'll sit down and obviously visit with his parents," Moser said. "He has earned how he's grown throughout the year, he's put himself in a position that is exciting. He has a great support system with his mom and dad, he's really hurting. This kid wants to win so bad and I know they'll sit down with his support system when the dust settles here and I'm sure that's when some decisions will be made."
Fears put together an impressive freshman campaign, averaging 17 points and over four rebounds and four assists, while being selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team.
"It's one thing to reclassify, then he missed the whole summer," Moser said. "I look back on his youthfulness when he got here, not having played at this level and then how he grew, and grew and grew.
"He's just so not entitled, I can't tell you how much was thrown his way as a young man. He was a joy to coach."
