Manchester United are being linked with countless forwards ahead of what needs to be a pivotal summer transfer window.
The likes of Benjamin Sesko, Liam Delap, Victor Osimhen, and Viktor Gyokeres are believed to be the most prominent targets leading into the decisive transfer period, with all fitting the bill of being prolific goalscorers. What’s more, each is expected to be on the move from their respective clubs this summer, which will certainly make negotiations simpler for their suitors.
As for Gyokeres and Sesko, they have been widely linked with a host of top European outfits, including German giants Bayern Munich, as they kickstart their search for a suitable backup to Harry Kane.
For most players, the prospect of joining Bayern is a lucrative one; silverware is guaranteed almost every single season, and they’re usually well in the mix to reign victorious in the Champions League, more recently doing so in 2020.
However, Kane’s unstoppable form – combined with the fact he’s one of the most renowned No.9s in world football – means he is simply undroppable for Vincent Kompany. In every high-stakes clash, the England skipper will be the first name on the team sheet, and the idea of playing second fiddle all season long will act as something of a deterrent for potential signings.
That’s certain to be the case for Sesko, anyway, as Bayern insider Christian Falk has claimed: “Sesko prefers a move to the Premier League, thanks to Kane’s presence in Munich.”
