Georgia Bulldogs basketball transfer point guard Silas Demary Jr. is projected to commit to the Connecticut Huskies over the St. John's Red Storm, Duke Blue Devils and BYU Cougars. UConn is the defending back-to-back national champions. Of course, that fact will change on Monday, April 7 because the Huskies have been eliminated from the NCAA Tournament.
Still, UConn is one of the premier programs in college basketball. The Huskies have produced some excellent guards over the years and aren't afraid to lean on the transfer portal to acquire talent.
Demary Jr. brings playmaking and scoring to UConn or wherever he ends up. He scored at least 15 points in each of UGA's last 10 games including over 20 points in four of those contests. The 6-foot-5, 195-pound guard also is entering the 2025 NBA draft, but it appears more likely that he'll return for another season of college basketball.

Demary Jr.'s likely transfer is a big loss for Georgia basketball. Demary Jr. was Georgia's second-leading scorer (13.5 points) and led Georgia in assists (3.1) and steals (1.7) per game during the 2024-2025 college basketball season as the Bulldogs returned to the NCAA Tournament.
Demary Jr. is ranked as the No. 2 combo guard in the transfer portal, per 247Sports. He is the No. 7 overall transfer.
Demary Jr. is one of three Georgia Bulldogs in the transfer portal. The Dawgs are projected to end up losing six of their top seven scorers from the 2024-2025 season, so head coach Mike White and company will basically have to start from scratch next season.
