The Wisconsin Badgers landed their first transfer portal commitment on Thursday afternoon: former Virginia guard Andrew Rohde.
247Sports lists the rising senior as a four-star transfer, ranked as the No. 166 player in the portal and No. 49 shooting guard. He chose the Badgers over other high-major programs, most notably Iowa State. Rohde is a native of Brookfield, WI and a graduate of Brookfield Central High School. He joins the Badgers with one year of eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot-6 guard averaged 9.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game at Virginia in 2024-25 while shooting 43% from the field and 41% from three. His best performances of the season include 17 points, four rebounds and three assists against Florida State, 15 points, five rebounds and five assists against Duke and 16 points, four rebounds and six assists against Boston College.
Rohde's ability to both facilitate and shoot the basketball will greatly benefit the Badgers, as will his experience in a defense-first program. The rising senior projects as a starter, sliding into the combo guard/wing spot in the lineup.

Wisconsin still has work to be done in the transfer portal, but adding Rohde is an excellent start for a program in need of multiple transfer starters.
