There will be some familiarity in the Indiana basketball locker room when coach Darian DeVries begins his first practice.
Conor Enright pledged his commitment to the Hoosiers on Wednesday, per On3. It should be a quick relearning of DeVries' system, albeit with a new roster, after Enright played his first two seasons for DeVries at Drake, and he'll spend his last season with DeVries at IU.
While he doesn't have gaudy numbers, the 6-2 guard from Mundelein, Ill., is the type of gritty, competitive player DeVries likes his teams to display. It won't be long before he endears himself to Hoosiers fans with his ability to track down loose balls or draw fouls trying to fight over screens.
Enright transferred after DeVries left for his one season at West Virginia. Instead of joining him in almost heaven, Enright went closer to home and played for Chris Holtmann at DePaul last season. He averaged 7.5 points, 6.2 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game and started all 23 contests he played.
He doesn't have a quick trigger on his 3-point shot, but had his best season from the perimeter in his second season at Drake. He was 43-for-98 (43.9%) on 3-pointers. Enright didn't have the same success as a freshman (32.2%, 59 attempts) or at DePaul (32.5%, 80 attempts).
Enright, though, is the epitome of a glue guy, who isn't afraid to do the dirty work and be an energizer. He will help DeVries set the culture and expectation he hopes to build for years to come.
The Hoosiers now have two players committed for the 2025-26 season, joining signee Trent Sisley.
