A rising senior from Columbia, S.C., McCray has been at JU for the last two seasons, playing for new FSU assistant coach Michael Fly. He was a three-star recruit out of high school, signing with Wake Forest and playing sparingly over one season there.

McCray was a prolific scorer in each of his two seasons at Jacksonville. He averaged 18.4 points per game in 2023-24 and 16.2 ppg in 2024-25, making 61 starts and appearing in 64 games.

The 6-foot-4, 186-pound guard's shooting numbers were slightly down this past season, falling from 50.2% from the floor and 35.8% from three to 42.8% from the floor and 32.6% from three. However, he's been a proven scorer in bunches, scoring 20+ points in 25 games over the last two seasons.

But McCray's assists numbers improved considerably from 2.9 per game in 2023-24 to 4.5 this past season while rebounds jumped from 4.2 per game to 4.8 per game. He also averaged 1.3 steals per game over his two seasons with the Dolphins.

McCray is FSU's second guard transfer addition alongside Drexel transfer Kobe MaGee. Loucks and his staff have also added a pair of forward transfers in St. Bonaventure transfer Lajae Jones and Clemson transfer Chauncey Wiggins.
