The NCAA men's basketball portal opened just the other day and there has been of flood of stories of players transferring out of various programs.
Now there's finally a story where a player transfers into a program.
Former Texas small forward Devon Pryor has committed to play for Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks.
As for Pryor, he didn't play a whole lot for the Longhorns in his two seasons in Austin. Playing time must have been a huge reason why he is making the move to Eugene. Pryor played in just seven games as a freshman for the Longhorns, but as a sophomore this season, he played in 24 games, averaging just over 12 minutes per game.
Pryor averaged just over three points a game this past season. At 6-foot-7 and 180 pounds, Pryor should be a nice fit at the small forward position for the Ducks, which was left vacant by a graduating TJ Bamba and Mookie Cook, who just announced he was entering the transfer portal and will play elsewhere next season.
This is surely not the last news we'll get about Oregon men's basketball and the transfer portal. Head coach Dana Altman has been a near-expert of claiming talent out of the portal even before it became the trendy thing to do and he'll have plenty of roster holes to fill for the 2025-26 season.
