According to multiple reports Monday afternoon, Alabama Crimson Tide freshman forward Naas Cunningham has entered the NCAA transfer portal after one season in Tuscaloosa.
Cunningham was the lone member of Alabama's 2024-25 roster to not see action this past season, as the freshman redshirted the year, and will now have four seasons of eligibility remaining.
Prior to Alabama, Cunningham was a member of the Crimson Tide's 2024 recruiting class, which ranked No. 2 in the nation, and was rated as a four-star small forward out of SoCal Academy in California. There, Cunningham was rated as the nation's No. 46 overall player in the 2024 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, as well as the No. 13 small forward nationally.
Cunningham is the first Alabama basketball player to announce their intentions to enter the NCAA transfer portal following the Crimson Tide's Elite Eight loss vs. Duke, and will now look for a new home next season.
