Former Saints QB still sumping for Shedeur Sanders to be drafted by the Saints

It's safe to say Chase Daniel really likes the idea of Shedeur Sanders as the heir apparent to Derek Carr. In late January, the rumors of Kellen Moore taking the New Orleans Saints coaching job began to swirl. The idea of Sanders playing under Moore seems to be what really sold Daniel.

On YouTube his show, The Facility, Daniel previously said, "If you go the Saints, and you sit behind Carr for a year and Kellen Moore's the head coach -- I think that's the best situation for Shedeur. Like, to not rush him."

A couple of things have changed since Daniel made this comment. Sanders' draft stock isn't as high and the idea of him dropping in the draft is believable. Secondly, tension between New Orleans and Carr has made it obvious a divorce is only a year away. Both of these factors make Daniel's ideal situation a more realistic scenario. The inconsistency around Sanders' draft stock as the draft nears has the former Saints quarterback bringing his comments back to the forefront on social media.

Sanders is a rare case where him going second overall feels as possible as a drop to the teens. It makes him one of the most fascinating players to monitor when we get to the NFL draft. The Saints would present Sanders with the opportunity to have built in year of refining his skills and immersing himself into the playbook that other teams in the top-10 don't provide him. Kellen Moore has shown the ability to work to his teams' strengths, so a year of working with a rookie quarterback could lead to a quick ascension when Sanders does hit the field.
