Former Bucs WR and NFC South division rival retires after 13 seasons

After 13 seasons in the NFL, Julio Jones has retired from the NFL and will be remembered as one of the best players to ever play his position.

After a college career at Alabama, Jones was drafted by the Falcons sixth overall in the memorable 2011 NFL Draft. The Falcons traded up 20 spots in a move that isn't often thought possible, but it paid off for Atlanta and it cost Bucs fans time and again over the years. Julio Jones retires with 13,703 receiving yards and 66 touchdowns.

One season of his 13 was spent with the Bucs, where he caught 24 passes for 299 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Jones joins a special group of retirements during the 2025 offseason that includes Zack Martin, Jason Peters, and Terron Armstead. When we look back on this offseason five years from now, Jones, Martin, and Armstead could be first-ballot Hall of Famers.
