BLOOMINGTON — Indiana women's basketball landed a commitment from Arkansas guard Phoenix Stotijn on Sunday night.
She reportedly had a list of five finalists that included Arizona State, Clemson, Illinois and Michigan. Stotijn is the second player the Hoosiers have landed out of the transfer portal as they look to rebuild a roster with only one returning starter.
As a freshman, Stotijn averaged 7.2 points and 2.2 assists per game. She started the team's final 11 games last season and averaged 29.6 minutes per game during that stretch. She closed out the season on a high-note with a career-best 23 points with five made 3-pointers and four assists in a 80-71 win over Texas A&M.
Stotijn entered the portal after Arkansas coach Mike Neighbors stepped down on March 11 after an eight-year stint with the school. The Razorbacks were 10-22 last season and finished in a four-way tie for last in the SEC with a 3-13.
The 5-foot-9 guard is a native of the Netherlands with plenty of international experience under her belt. She played for the Netherlands national team at the 2023 European Championships — she averaged 15.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game — and the FIBA 3x3 U17 Europe Cup.
Indiana coach Teri Moren still has plenty of roster spots left to fill with nine players from last year's roster leaving— three exhausted their eligibility and six transfers — and only two 2025 signees (Maya Makalusky and Nevaeh Caffey). Stotijn joins a transfer class that features former Alabama guard Chloe Spreen, the former Indiana Miss Basketball that the Hoosiers signed last week.
