Falcons among teams present for Louisville EDGE prospect's pro day
The 2025 NFL draft kicks off in less than a month but teams are still doing homework on this year's class as they finalize their big boards. Even after signing edge Leonard Floyd, the Atlanta Falcons need more help along their front seven. The team has been linked to two edge prospects in the last 24 hours.
The Falcons came out in full force to see Marshall's Mike Green on Monday, and according to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, they had reps present at Louisville edge Ashton Gillotte's pro day on Tuesday. All 32 teams had scouts in attendance for the projected mid-round edge prospect.
While Gillotte's sack numbers dipped slightly in 2024 (five sacks), he generated 41 pressures for Louisville. His strength should help him translate to the NFL and he moves well for his size (6-foot-3, 275 pounds).
#Louisville edge Ashton Gillotte, a name that is already generating buzz as we get closer to the NFL Draft, ran a blazing 4.63 40-yard dash today at his Pro Day in front of representatives from all 32 NFL Clubs, source said.

Pro Football Focus highlighted Gillotte's lack of length as a potential issue but praised his motor and physicality in their scouting profile.
"Gillotte is a strong defensive end who wins with leverage and leg drive," writes PFF. "His lack of length is an issue when engaging in pass-rush moves and, more importantly, when getting off blocks, but his relentlessness and consistent physical play style will get coaches in his corner for roster spots and rotations for playing time."
The Falcons only have five picks in this year's draft and hold zero selections in the third, fifth, or sixth round. Two of Atlanta's five picks are in Round 7. So if the team doesn't draft an edge in the first round, there will be limited opportunities.
General manager Terry Fontenot has suggested the Falcons could trade down and acquire more picks, which might not be a bad idea for a team with multiple holes and little cap space.
