Miami pro day shows Cam Ward 'solidifying' top draft pick status for Titans
The Tennessee Titans' front office finally had their chance to see quarterback prospect Cam Ward perform in person on Monday when they sent a delegation of staff to Miami University's pro day. Mike Borgonzi, Chad Brinker, Brian Callahan, Nick Holz, and other offensive coaches were in attendance to see for themselves what Ward can do in person since he opted not to throw at the NFL Combine last month.
The Titans are still going through their evaluation process, and it seems that Ward is the way they are leaning, but what does the young quarterback think about the Titans? Beat reporter Jim Wyatt spoke with Ward after Miami's pro day to get his thoughts.

This conversation between Ward and Wyatt gives insight into the type of person Cam Ward is. He comes across as confident yet humble and expresses an interest in simply playing the game he loves rather than what uniform he will be wearing this fall.
Wyatt asked Ward about a play. Ward rolled out on the play and said something to Mike Borgonzi and Chad Brinker, who smiled. "I told them I'm solidifying it today," Ward said. "They finally got to see me throw in person, I'll get another chance, hopefully, to throw in person in front of them, but that's a good building they got there. Good support staff, I was able to meet a lot of them when I was on my 30 visit, so I was happy to be able to throw in front of them for the first time."
It's not the first time he's met with the Titans' brass, though. Ward visited Tennessee as one of the Titans' Top 30 visits ahead of the 2025 NFL draft. When asked about the visit, Ward sang the praises of the Titans' organization.
"It was good. From the president, Mr. Chad, to Mr. Mike to Mr. Dave, it was all good. Especially with Coach Callahan, I think what he does offensively suits me from what I did in Miami and in previous stops. The terminology is not that big of a difference, he gets his guys open, he calls great plays, I just think if I have a chance to play with him we'll have a really good outcome."
Ward is saying all of the right things, his attitude and how he presents himself to the media and coaches are all appropriate for the No. 1 overall draft pick. Tennessee will continue its evaluations and go through its process to determine what to do with the first pick. But if they don't use it to draft Cam Ward, the city of Nashville might lose its mind.
