Wes Welker's career in professional football continues.
The former Denver Broncos wide receiver hung up his cleats following the 2015 season, and he later transitioned to coaching in 2017. His latest gig is with the Washington Commanders, ESPN's Mike Reiss first reported Monday (via Commanders Wire).
Welker, 43, joins Washington's staff as a personnel analyst, and he will work with the personnel staff and coaching staff, according to JP Finlay of NBC4 Washington.
Welker spent time with five NFL teams during his playing career, and he's now joining his fourth club as a coach/analyst. He previously coached with the Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins before joining the Commanders.
As a player, Welker was a four-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler, spending time with the San Diego Chargers, Dolphins, New England Patriots, Broncos and St. Louis Rams. Welker played in three Super Bowls and ended his 12-year career with 903 receptions for 9,924 yards and 50 touchdowns.
