Texas A&M is officially on a winning streak with four straight wins. Game 1 against South Carolina was not the cleanest, but they found ways to make plays late to come out with the victory.
After a challenging season filled with injuries, questionable coaching choices, and inconsistent at-bats, Texas A&M Baseball is finding its footing as they head into the heart of the SEC schedule. Coming into the season with high expectations, Aggie fans struggled to enjoy the games as their team faced adversity. However, a turning point emerged during the Tennessee series, where the Aggies flipped the switch and began showcasing their offensive firepower.
A major catalyst for this turnaround has been sophomore star Caden Sorrell’s return from injury. Since his comeback, Sorrell has been unstoppable, posting a .400 batting average, five home runs, and 10 RBIs in just eight games. His performance has reignited the Aggies’ lineup, with the team now averaging nearly 10 hits per game, a testament to how contagious hitting can be.
Sorrell continued his dominance in the opener against South Carolina on Thursday night, delivering a walk-off home run to secure a dramatic series-opening victory for Texas A&M.
"I was looking for something that started middle or maybe even shoot it the other way, and that's what I was able to do. He threw, I think, a middle away fast and was sitting that and was able to put a good swing off on it, I'm still out of breath from screaming so much around the bases."
Below, you can watch Caden Sorrell speak after the game.
Texas A&M will play game two against South Carolina on Friday, April 11, at 6:00 p.m. CT. The game will be streamed on SEC Network+.
