Elite 2026 RB Javian Osborne sets commitment date

Elite 2026 RB Javian Osbornehas locked in his commitment date.

The top-100 RB from Texas will choose between Michigan and Notre Dame on May 3, he tells Rivals.

Rivals' No. 3 RB has been down to two teams since making visits to South Bend and Ann Arbor earlier this spring.

"I want to help build the class I commit to," Osborne said.

"These schools have what I look for -- the relationship aspect," he continued. "It's more than ball. If I get hurt, will they still look after me? Coach TA (Tony Alford) and Coach (Ja'Juan) Seider and the two head coaches there, they do that for their players."

After tabbing Mike Martin as General Manager, Notre Dame came full throttle for the four-star RB from Texas, who made his first visit up to South Bend in March.

Osborne's recruitment shifted drastically immediately after.

"I took that first trip two weeks and it ain't never been the same. It opened my eyes even more for Notre Dame," Osborne recounted.

The Wolverines have had an edge in Osborne's recruitment dating back to the fall -- and furthered their position earlier this spring after Tashard Choice left Texas for a job with the Detroit Lions.

Michigan has been pressing the right buttons since.

Osborne's return to Ann Arbor over the weekend furthered the Wolverines' position.

"I like Michigan a lot. They showed me the whole plan how they would utilize me -- and they'd be giving me all of it. Come in, start right away. They showed me the plan and what the next three years would look like," he explained.
