Del Jones, Clemson basketball reserve guard, enters transfer portal | Report
CLEMSON — Clemson basketball guard Del Jones entered the transfer portal Monday after spending one season with the Tigers, according to a report from On3sports.
Jones was a key contributor for the Tigers off the bench in his freshman season, averaging 3.8 points on 40.3% shooting and one assist over 32 games. His play was erratic at times, but he provided quality defense and often a jolt to Clemson's offense.
Jones' production slowed in postseason play, during which he averaged 1.3 points and shot 22.2% in three games against SMU, Louisville and McNeese State. When guard Dillon Hunter broke his right hand against SMU, Jones was among the players expected to elevate their performance, but he could not.
Jones, who was a four-star guard out of high school, is the second Tigers player to enter the portal this offseason, joining forward Asa Thomas.

The portal opened Monday and will close April 22 for transfers with one exception: Players whose coach leaves the school will have an additional 30 days to enter the portal, beginning the day after the coach's departure. There is no deadline for portal players to commit to a new program.
