Day 5 of Lions free agency - Medical recap of the players Detroit has signed
Day five of free agency is over, so let's review who the Lions signed that day, along with their medical concern level from 1 (no concern) to 10 (has an operating room named after him).
Tim Patrick, WR - age 31 (1yr / up to $4 million) ⊳Link to Patrick article
INJURY HISTORY
2024: Played 17 of 18 games.
2023: Achilles tear. Missed entire year.
2022: ACL tear. Missed entire year.
CONCERN LEVEL 6/10: His age (32 in November) along with the two serious recent injuries are a concern. Despite a healthy. productive last season, it remains to be seen whether his ligaments and tendons can hold up. He should start the season as the #3 WR.
Kenny Yeboah, TE - age 26 (1 year / $ undisclosed)
INJURY HISTORY
2024: Possible core muscle injury. Did not play the first 8 games of year. Played the final 9 games.
2023: Hamstring. Did not play the first 12 games. Played the final 5 games.
2022: Calf, missed 2 games. Played in 10 of 17 games.
CONCERN LEVEL 4/10: The 2024 injury was publicly reported variously as a groin, abdomen, and core muscle. The reason for the uncertain diagnosis is likely because the groin area is complex to diagnose. A core muscle injury raises concern for something that could require surgery if there is a recurrence.
Last season with the Jets, the majority of his snaps came on special teams. He had 106 offensive snaps and finished with 5 receptions.
