Expectations are high for the Oregon Ducks going into the 2025 season. They are coming off a Big Ten Championship and the No. 1 overall seed in the College Football Playoff.
There will be a lot of new faces on this team, with young players moving up the depth chart and taking on more prominent roles. One of the most intriguing positions to watch going into spring football is under center, where either Dante Moore or Austin Novosad will take over and fill the shoes of Heisman Trophy finalist Dillon Gabriel.
A starter has not yet been named, but true freshman wide receiver Dakorien Moore, a former 5-star recruit, is confident that he knows who QB1 will be and has high expectations for his future passer at Oregon as well.
On the latest Pivot Podcast episode with Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder, and Fred Taylor, Moore was asked about his outlook on Dante going into the new season.

This is not the first Heisman hype about Dante Moore this year. Leading up to the Rose Bowl, former Oregon receiver Tez Johnson claimed that Moore would be a Heisman finalist in 2025, his first year as a starter for the Ducks.
"He'll be a Heisman finalist next year,"聽Johnson said聽of Moore at the Rose Bowl media day. "100 percent. It's something you haven't seen yet. That boy can throw a ball like no other. I've never seen nothing like it."

At the moment, Moore has the fifth-best odds to win the Heisman next year, behind LSU Tigers quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning, Clemson Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik, and Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.
We will see how the quarterback battle plays out between Moore and Novosad and ultimately who will be named the starter come fall, but the buzz for Dante is continuing to grow.
