Colorado picks up commitment from top transfer portal wide receiver

Colorado is now two for two this weekend in landing its transfer portal targets.

After receiving a commitment from Memphis offensive lineman Xavier Hill, Deion Sanders and Colorado land one of the top receivers in the spring portal in Campbell transfer Sincere Brown.

The 6-foot-5 receiver played sparingly at USF but put together a standout season last year at Campbell. Brown racked up 61 receptions, 1,028 yards and 12 touchdowns while averaging 16.9 yards per reception. ESPN ranked Brown as the No. 6 overall player in the spring portal and the No. 2 wide receiver.

Like Hill, Brown committed to the Buffs this weekend after the conclusion of his visit. Brown was initially scheduled to visit Boulder for the April 19 spring game but moved up the visit.

As an upperclassman, he can commit before the portal opens on April 16. The Buffs beat out more than 12 schools for Brown's signature, including North Carolina, Texas A&M, Cal and Michigan.

The big-bodied receiver is likely to be a versatile player for the Buffaloes. Like fellow transfer Joseph Williams, Brown's calling card is his ball skills and enormous catch radius. He has top-end acceleration and owns tremendous yards after catch ability with his elusiveness. Brown and Williams should help whoever is under center convert touchdowns in the redzone with their ability to bring down contested catches.

Last season, Brown was a first-team all-CAA selection and racked up five 100-yard receiving games while scoring a touchdown in eight games.

Brown enters a Colorado wide receiver room that has lost Travis Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr., Will Sheppard and LaJohntay Wester to the NFL. Every expectation is that he will slot into a starting role.
