The wind and baseball Gods were on Louisiana baseball's side on Friday in its opening game vs James Madison in the comforts of M.L. Tigue Moore Field.
The Ragin' Cajuns (12-15, 4-3 SBC) made an eighth inning comeback to beat the Dukes 5-2 after trailing by a run for almost the entire game. With this win under their belt, they have snatched the momteumn and are looking to take it over completely as they lace em up to do it again on Saturday and Sunday.
For the Dukes (9-17, 4-3), the remainder of the weekend will be all about finishing these next two games. Despite having a solid start from right-handed pitcher Jackson Logar, it wasn't enough to combat the slugging of UL's Conor Higgs. Higgs' two-run triple will go down as the hit that was carried by an angel or wind, depending on who you ask.
In Saturday's game, right-handed pitcher Casey Smith will look to be the guy to get the job done against the Cajuns as he is set to start on the mound. For the Cajuns, no matter who's on the mound they will need to get the bats going after struggling in the first half of Friday's game offensively.
