Claremore tennis is heating up the 2025 season with dominant showings and standout performances across both singles and doubles courts.
Led by strong individual performances and increasingly cohesive doubles pairings, the Zebras' tennis program has emerged as a force this spring, with several players notching major tournament finishes and signature wins as the postseason approaches.
Mackinley Sisovsky, a junior standout, has compiled an 11-4 record in singles, including a perfect 3-0 run to capture first place at the CZ Rumble on March 13.
That was his most dominant outing, for he didn’t drop a set in victories over CJ Trevino (Rejoice Christian), David Untila (Memorial) and Jeff Webster (Henryetta). Sisovsky’s most thrilling match, however, was a gutsy tiebreak win over Durant’s Ace Richardson in the Edison Tournament, a performance that helped secure a third-place team finish.
With a 12-3 overall record, Ben Forbes has been a steady force for the Zebras.
After losing his first match in the season-opening Zebra Classic, Forbes has gone on a tear with separate winning streaks of five, three and four matches, including a title-winning effort at the Edison Tournament.
His best day came on March 13 at the CZ Rumble, where he defeated Memorial’s Jamen Phillips 6-0, 6-0 before closing out the title with a win over Henryetta’s Alex Clayton (6-1, 6-5). Another defining moment was his decisive 6-2, 6-2 win over Durant’s Lucas Carpenter to seal the Edison championship.
With chemistry and clutch play, the Kadens — Kaden "Tyger" Holland and Kaden Salcido — have emerged as one of Claremore’s most dangerous doubles teams.
They boast an 11-4 overall record and a commanding 7-1 mark in 5A matchups. Their top tournament finish came at the CZ Rumble, where they steamrolled three straight opponents without dropping a set, including consecutive 6-0, 6-0 clinics against Memorial and Sapulpa.
The pair’s finest hour, though, might be their gritty third-set tiebreaker win over NOAH in the Zebra Classic, showcasing their poise under pressure.
After a shaky 1-3 start, Lluvia Diaz and Ella Ralsten have found their groove, winning five of their past six matches.
They impressed at the CZ Rumble with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win over Memorial on the way to a second-place finish before edging Shawnee in a tight 7-5, 6-2 match at the Shawnee Quad. Their resilience was on full display during the Edison Tournament, where they won back-to-back matches in decisive third-set tiebreakers, including a 10-8 win over McAlester.
Although her season has begun with ups and downs, Abby Lantz is finding momentum with a 3-3 overall record — all matches coming in the past week.
She secured a third-place finish at the Edison Tournament behind a critical 7-5, 6-4 win over Edison and a gritty win over Sapulpa’s Ja’Nya Jackson. Despite a few narrow losses, Lantz has shown she can compete with some of 5A’s best.
With a busy April on the horizon, Claremore’s tennis squad is peaking at the right time.
If their recent performances are any indication, the Zebras may soon have more medals — and memories — to add to an already notable season.
