Browns don't rule out a reunion with Joe Flacco in NFL free agency

The needs surrounding the Cleveland Browns' 2025 quarterback room are among the hottest topics surrounding the team. One of the players who could fill that need is a familiar face: 2023 Comeback Player of the Year Joe Flacco.

Browns owner, Jimmy Haslam, made headlines when he answered questions about the mistakes surrounding Deshaun Watson’s acquisition. Haslam admitted that ownership was to blame and said the team was ready to take a new step forward. When asked if they were considering adding veteran free agent Joe Flacco to the roster, Haslam claimed, "He's in the conversation."

As a Browns starter in 2023, Flacco posted a 4-1 record that contributed to an 11-win season and a divisional playoff appearance. On top of his impressive 13 touchdown passes, Flacco threw for 300+ yards in three consecutive games for the first time in his lengthy career. If Stefanski wants to work with a familiar face, Flacco is one of the only remaining choices.

Newly acquired quarterback Kenny Pickett is currently the only healthy quarterback on the Browns' roster. While they are expected to add a rookie gunslinger in the NFL Draft, a veteran is also expected to be added soon. We’ll see if a Flacco return is in play for the Browns either before or after the 2025 NFL Draft.
