Ben Johnson doesn't know which direction Bears will go at No. 10

The Chicago Bears made some big moves in free agency to shore up the trenches, which includes the additions of offensive linemen Joe Thuney, Jonah Jackson and Drew Dalman, as well as defensive linemen Grady Jarrett and Dayo Odeyingbo. And that's certainly impacted how they're approaching the 2025 NFL draft.

Head coach Ben Johnson said the team has a lot of flexibility when it comes to their first round selection, where there should be a number of top prospects available to them come 10th overall.

"We feel like there are going to be a lot of good players available with that No. 10 pick," Johnson said, via Lou Canellis. "And honestly, right now, I couldn't tell you if it's going to be offense, if it's going to be defense. There's a lot of candidates in mind right now that could help us. The moves we made in free agency really helped us be flexible to where we don't have to necessarily pick a certain position at that spot."

While the offensive line and defensive line were the biggest concerns heading into the offseason, those positions have been shored up in a big way (although that doesn't mean they should stop addressing them). But with that flexibility in the first round, does that mean the Bears could draft a running back (like Ashton Jeanty) or tight end (like Tyler Warren or Colston Loveland)? With Johnson, expect the unexpected.

"Is 10 too early for a kicker?" Johnson asked.

April Fools.

"Nah, I'm just kidding."
