During the 2024 campaign, Barryn Sorrell was a key piece of the Longhorns' success. Due to his play, he has been an intriguing prospect leading up to the NFL Draft. As his stock has been on the rise, Sorrell has seen his hard work over the last few years pay off.
In his last year as a Longhorn, Sorrell took his game to another level. He tied his career in tackles with 44 and set a new career high in sacks with six. As the Longhorns' defense frustrated offensive coordinators all season, Sorrell made his presence felt.
While Sorrell will not be an easy player to replace, he made the most of his time with the Longhorns. It is not something the New Orleans native takes for granted.

"It's a blessing. I mean, I've got to thank God first, just going back to my first year, going five and seven, and having nobody drafted," Sorrell said at the Longhorns Pro Day. "Pro day looked a lot different than now, and knowing that me and a lot of people out here were a key component in that change, and that's the best thing, especially walking out of these doors knowing that I left this place better than I found it."
Although Sorrell will not be a first-round pick, he could be a valuable player for any NFL team. He improved every year at Texas and used his athleticism to his advantage. The former Longhorn also participated in the Reese's Senior Bowl, where he continued to make headlines.
After a very good NFL Combine performance, Sorrell will wait to see where he plays football next year. The NFL Draft begins on April 24 and will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Whoever drafts Sorrell will be getting a player motivated to make an impact.
"I'm obviously just showing that I'm a competitor, that's what the coaches really want to see, who's not going to back down from those challenges," Sorrell said. "I know the player I am and know what I can do. I wanted to go out there and take advantage."
