A member of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was recently confirmed to have been suffering with kidney stones.
That’s according to Cadena SER, who point towards Wojciech Szczęsny as the player in question.
Shot-stopper Szczęsny is for his part of course currently in the midst of a remarkable run of form with Hansi Flick’s Barcelona.
Since taking over no.1 duties following the turn of the year, the Polish international has taken to the pitch on 21 occasions, yet to taste defeat in a single one.
In turn, it may come as something of a concern for those of a Blaugrana persuasion to learn that Szczęsny, recently, suffered a considerable health scare.
As per the aforementioned SER, following a recent outing for Hansi Flick’s side:
‘Szczęsny felt a strong pain in his stomach, it was thought that he had appendicitis, but in the end it was kidney stones. Fortunately, he was able to expel them and did not miss any match with Barça.’
