Barcelona ready to extend 25-year-old star’s contract with fixed salary and attractive bonuses
According to an update shared by SPORT, it has come to light that Barcelona are ready to extend Ferran Torres’ contract until 2029.
The outlet mentions that the club is satisfied with his performance and wants to ensure his long-term stay. Their proposal would maintain his current fixed salary while increasing his bonuses based on performance.
Torres has been a crucial player for Barcelona this season, proving his worth even without being a regular starter under Hansi Flick.
His consistency and ability to impact games have convinced the club’s directors that he deserves an extended deal. Currently contracted until 2027, the plan is to add two more years to secure his future.
Everything is on track
While the agreement is not finalised yet, Barcelona have already outlined their financial and contractual terms for Torres.
The club is managing their wage structure carefully but wants to reward him appropriately. His ability to deliver when called upon has been a major advantage for the team.
Hansi Flick is particularly impressed with Torres’ contribution this season. The Spanish forward has scored 13 goals, with eight of them coming as a substitute.
This makes him one of the most effective impact players in La Liga. His versatility in attack and knack for scoring important goals make him a valuable asset to the squad.
What about attacking reinforcement?
Despite Barcelona’s interest in strengthening their attack, renewing Torres remains a priority.
The club has been monitoring potential signings, including Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, but the financial challenges of signing a high-profile striker make securing Torres’ future a smart decision.
The club understands the current transfer market and knows that keeping a player of Torres’ quality is beneficial.
His consistent performances and ability to step up in crucial moments have earned him the trust of the coaching staff. Barcelona want to ensure he remains an integral part of their squad until at least 2029.
