Iowa City Regina runner Avery Recker and Clear Creek Amana thrower Landon Prince were voted the Iowa City Press-Citizen's Athletes of the Week for March 24-30.
Recker earned girls Athlete of the Week with 53% of the vote. Iowa City High track's Ellie Fraga placed second with 43% of the vote.
Recker won a pair of first-place finishes at the Bob Brown Relays on March 29. The Regina junior hit a personal record time of 13.16 in the 100 meters. She also ran a time of 27.48 in the 200 meters.
Prince won boys Athlete of the Week with 54% of the vote. Iowa City Regina track's Gabe Schuessler earned second place with 43% of the vote.
Prince set a Drake Relays Blue Standard and school record in the shot put at the WaMaC Indoor Meet. The senior Clipper earned a throw of 56 feet, one inch to clinch first place.
The Press-Citizen reached out to Iowa City Regina for a photo of Recker, but didn't receive one by production deadline.
