Crispus Attucks senior and former Iowa commit Dezmon Briscoe is starting to get his college possibilities lined up.
The 6-9 Briscoe, who opened his commitment from Iowa after Fran McCaffery was fired in March, helped Attucks to a Class 3A state finals appearance and was named to the Indiana All-Star team on Friday after averaging 15.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 5.1 blocked shots per game as a senior.
Briscoe has an official visit set to Kent State for April 17-18. He also plans to take official visits to College of Charleston and Duquesne.
Briscoe was the City Player of the Year as a sophomore and junior and could have been a three-time winner but missed 10 games early in the season as senior due to a high ankle sprain. He finished fourth on the school’s career scoring list with 1,181 points and had 953 rebounds, 375 blocked shots and 158 assists for his career.
Kent State, coached by one-time Indiana assistant Rob Senderoff, is coming off a 24-12 season and National Invitational Tournament semifinal appearance. The Flashes made NCAA tournament appearances under Senderoff in 2017 and 2023.
College of Charleston is coming off a 24-9 season in Chris Mack’s first year as coach. The former Xavier and Louisville coach was hired at Charleston in 2024.
Duquesne, which was involved with Briscoe prior to his commitment to Iowa, is coming off a 13-19 season under first-year coach Dru Joyce II. Duquesne went to the NCAA tournament in 2024 as a No. 11 seed and won a first-round game over BYU.
