World champions Argentina maintained first place in the global men's football rankings, while Spain climbed into second in the latest list issued on Thursday by the ruling body FIFA.
Argentina stayed top after beating Uruguay and Brazil and with it qualifying for next year's World Cup.
Spain snatched second place from France via their latest Nations League quarter-final results, and the Netherlands moved past Portugal into sixth. England and Brazil remain fourth and fifth, respectively, while Belgium, Italy and Germany complete the top 10.
Later this year in autumn the FIFA rankings will determine the seedings for the draw of the 12 World Cup groups. Co-hosts Canada, Mexico and United States are seeded in Pot 1 and will be joined by the nine best ranked other teams there.
Myanmar, up seven to 162th, were the biggest climbers in the rankings, while several teams including Norway (38th), Ivory Coast (41st) and Paraguay (48th) gained five places.
