American Dream is home field for new sports card store backed by Tom Brady

Once a rival of the area's two pro football teams, retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady returned to the Meadowlands to mark the debut of his new sports memorabilia store at American Dream.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion was at the mall for the grand opening of CardVault by Tom Brady on Friday, April 11. Attendees were given the change to win giveaways, took part in interactive experiences, and listened to an on-stage conversation with Brady and CardVault co-founder Chris Costa about the collectible industry.

"I’m beyond excited to officially be in the hobby — not just as a collector, but as a store owner," Brady said in a statement. "CardVault isn’t just about buying and selling cards; it’s about bringing the passion of collecting to as many people as possible."

CardVault, located in Court A, Level 1 of American Dream, officially opens to the public Saturday, April 12. The store spans more than 1,200 square feet of space and offers a variety of trading cards for novices and experienced collectors.

The American Dream store marks the first CardVault location outside New England, where Brady played the majority of his career for the Patriots and won six of his seven Super Bowl titles. The company has three other stores at TD Garden in Boston; Gillette Stadium, home of the Patriots; and Foxwoods Resort and Casino.

Founded in 2020, the CardVault website touts Brady's "deep-rooted passion for sports collectibles and commitment to excellence" in helping to grow the company. Meanwhile, the quarterback-turned-broadcaster is ready to share that passion with others in the industry.

"Collecting is about more than just the cards — it’s about the memories, nostalgia, and the connection to the game," Brady said. "I’ve lived it firsthand, and I know how powerful that feeling is. We’re bringing that excitement to a whole new generation of fans."
