A pair of no-hitters earn Delmarva Now Athlete of the Week for Mardela softball player

The Spring sports season is in its early stages in the Bayside South, as teams and athletes make their way outside to compete. And there have already been standout individual performers across the Eastern Shore. One of them is a softball player from Mardela who won the first spring Delmarva Now Player of the Week poll this week.

Mardela softball's Hayden Adkins is the Delmarva Now Player of the Week for March 24-30. Adkins threw two no-hitters last week in Mardela's victories over Kent County and Crisfield, helping the Warriors get off to a dominant and unbeaten start to their season.

Mardela's Hayden Adkins (3) pitches against North Dorchester Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland. Mardela won 4-0 to win the Bayside Championship.

A fellow Mardela athlete, baseball player Wyatt Webster, finished second in the Player of the Week Poll, and Pocomoke baseball player Eli Scott finished third.
