The NFL draft is later this month and the Arizona Cardinals will be putting together their player rankings. NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah recently updated his top 50 players and we broke the top 50 down by position.
As the Cardinals have different positional needs, let's take a look at each position group and who might be a target with either of their two top picks, No. 16 and No. 47 overall.
Let's look at the offensive guards, one of the positions the Cardinals don't have a clear starter currently.
In Jeremiah's top 50 players, three are tackles.
Offensive guards in Daniel Jeremiah's top 50 prospects
- Tyler Booker, Alabama: No. 20 overall
- Grey Zabel, North Dakota State: 24 overall
- Donovan Jackson, Ohio State: No. 41 overall
Who could the Cardinals get?
Booker would 100% be worth the 16th pick, but the question is whether he moves well enough to do what the Cardinals like their guards to do. His testing was below average.
Zabel would fit, but general manager Monti Ossenfort has not drafted an FCS player in his two years running the draft.
Jackson, if he is around at No. 47, would be a perfect match. He is a high-level guard who can even play tackle. He was coached by the Cardinals' new offensive line coach Justin Frye, who was at Ohio State. The question is whether or not he is there.
