The Chicago Bears are gearing up for the 2025 NFL draft, where they'll be selecting in the Top 10 for the third straight year. And there will be no shortage of options, especially after Chicago made some big moves in free agency to give them flexibility in the first round.
In a new mock draft from NFL.com's Lance Zierlein, the Bears land a playmaking running back in Ashton Jeanty for Ben Johnson's offense with the 10th overall pick. Jeanty has been a popular pick for Chicago and the Las Vegas Raiders. So if he gets past Las Vegas, the Bears might be able to land the best running back in the draft.
The Bears have done a good job improving their offensive line this offseason. The next step toward getting the most from Caleb Williams and that offense should be taking the most explosive playmaker in this draft.
Players still on the board when Chicago picked Jeanty include tight end Tyler Warren, cornerback Will Johnson and wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan.
Jeanty was one of college football's biggest playmakers last season, finishing second in Heisman voting behind Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter. In 2024, Jeanty rushed for 2,601 yards, averaging 7.0 yards per carry, and 29 touchdowns. He added 23 receptions for 138 yards and a score.
The Bears are looking to add to the running back room, which is led by D'Andre Swift. If they were to land Jeanty, it would give Johnson a 1-2 punch at running back, perhaps similar to what he had in Detroit.
