2025 NFL draft: Tennessee Titans met with SMU edge rusher Elijah Roberts

The Tennessee Titans are putting in the work in this pre-draft process. Between the combine, Pro Days, and visits, the staff will meet with hundreds of potential draft prospects.

Aaron Wilson reports that the Titans have met with SMU defensive end Elijah Roberts at his Pro Day.

This could be the second meeting with Roberts, who was at the East-West Shrine Bowl when Tennessee had a group in town to meet with quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Roberts appears to be more of a base 3-4 defensive end than a dynamic edge at this stage of development, with his 6-foot-4, 285-pound frame in sync with that position. A transfer from Miami, he flashes tremendous ability. Unfortunately, those have been matched by inconsistency and struggles against top competition.

Roberts has the size and strength to succeed in the NFL and has shown a solid bull rush and enough power to be dominant. But between his inconsistent play and need for technical refinement, he often goes silent for long periods of time, limiting his production and value in this class.

The Titans need defensive help along their front seven, and Roberts could be a Day 3 target. He does have some limitations at this stage, but he has the physical tools and enough upside to warrant a look.
