NFL owners push 'Tush push' discussion to later date

Will the "Tush push" quarterback sneak play that the Philadelphia Eagles do so successfully be banned in 2025? That will be determined at a later date.

According to multiple reports, first noted on social media by NFL Media's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, owners at the annual league meeting at Palm Beach, Florida, decided to push the vote back, tabling the discussion to a later date.

The Green Bay Packers proposed that offensive players be forbidden from pushing or throwing his body against a player right after a player takes the snap from center. Doing so would result in a 10-yard penalty.

Opponents cite risk for injury, although in the time it has been used, mainly by the Eagles, no one has suffered injuries as a result of the play.

The Eagles are almost automatic with the play, but they are also the only team that has great success with it.

So, for now, nothing is changing with that rule. The play remains legal.
