It was a move many were expecting, but it's never fun to say goodbye to a player, but that's the nature of college sports today. On Tuesday, Michigan State basketball redshirt freshman Gehrig Normand entered the transfer portal after struggling to find playing time this past season, and later that day, he posted a farewell to Spartan nation on Instagram.
Here is what Normand said:
All I can say to spartan nation is thank you, I really appreciate the endless support and passion you bleed into this program. Truly grateful for my time here at Michigan State, it was truly a blessing. All the memories created here were positive and I truly love and care for the people in this program. I wish the absolute best for the future of the people in this program and the overall success of this program. With that being said I entered my name in the transfer portal today and will be looking for a new fit.
