2025 NFL draft: Tennessee Titans met with Austin Peay CB Jesse Johnson III
While most of the front office and coaching staff have been busy in Nashville navigating free agency and conducting pre-draft visits, other members of the Tennessee Titans are on the road visiting individual Pro Days and meeting with prospects and coaches.
Recently, members of the Titans’ scouting department made their way to the Austin Peay Pro Day and met with a prospect with NFL bloodlines.

The nephew of Antonio Cromartie and related to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, cornerback Jessie Johnson III could be a sleeper in this 2025 NFL draft class. A small-school prospect, he brings a unique blend of size, athleticism, and versatility to the table, along with leadership abilities forged by stops at multiple programs during his college journey.
Johnson is an aggressive cornerback with tremendous length and coverage ability both outside and in the slot. He has the potential to contribute on special teams and in sub packages early in his career, although he will need some seasoning to add some weight (6-foot-1, 175 pounds) and catch up to the jump in competition.
The Titans are looking for depth in their secondary after releasing Chidobe Awuzie earlier in the month and Johnson could be that player. A mid-to-late round prospect, he has shown himself to be a diligent worker and has the ceiling to eventually elevate into a starting NFL cornerback.
