The former Fiorentina boss has helped guide his side back into the Champions League places as a result of their recent performances.
The Rossoblu won all four of their fixtures last month, scoring 10 times and conceding just twice, including a 5-0 thrashing of Lazio.
That outstanding form continued into April, with Bologna on the brink of the Coppa Italia final thanks to a 3-0 first leg win against Empoli in their semi-final meeting on Tuesday.
