The second game of the Texas Tech baseballseries against Cincinnati, originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon, has been postponed with cold weather and snow in the forecast.
The two teams plan to make it up as part of a doubleheader at 11 a.m. Sunday at Dan Law Field/Rip Griffin Park. Cincinnati won the series opener Friday afternoon 8-7 in 12 innings.
The Bearcats (18-11, 5-5 in the Big 12) have won six games in a row. The Red Raiders (8-18, 4-6) have lost five in a row.
The National Weather Service forecast for Saturday in Lubbock calls for rain early in the day and snow after 1 p.m. and the temperature falling to around 30 degrees by 4 p.m. It also projects north northeast wind at 20 to 30 mph, gusting to 40.
In Friday's series opener, Cincinnati cleanup hitter Jack Nitili drove in three runs. He broke a 7-7 tie with an RBI single in the 12th inning. Tech got a two-run double from Kyeler Thompson, a home run from Damian Bravo and a two-run homer from Antonelli Savattere.
