Dragon Age: The Veilguard - Taash Romance Guide
Few people in Dragon Age: The Veilguard have the fire that burns within Taash, a Qunari Warrior of the Lords of Fortune. But what if this fire allows you to learn about their deepest desire? Here's our guide on how to romance Taash in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
How to romance Taash in Dragon Age: The Veilguard
The mechanics to romance Taash in Dragon Age: The Veilguard are similar to what you may have noticed when interacting with other companions. You should improve your relationship standing/affinity with them, and you should pay attention to "heart" responses whenever the two of you are talking. But, there's one caveat, since Taash's commitment conversation happens earlier than the rest.

How to increase Taash's approval
Those who want to romance Taash in Dragon Age: The Veilguard need to remember the following tidbits:
- Quest completion - If Taash is in your party when you complete group quests, then you'll earn approval with them. The same can be said for their own personal quests.
- Rivain Coast and Hall of Valor encounters - Taash works with the Lords of Fortune, so clearing encounters in the Rivain Coast nets affinity gains. Moreover, their affinity increases whenever you defeat hostile teams in the Hall of Valor. This boost triggers for the first 10 matches.
- Choose a mix of supportive and aggressive responses depending on the situation - Taash is a very complex character:
- Taash is aggressive in battle, often preferring a no-nonsense approach. If the situation calls for it, pick the "clenched fist" replies when you're facing foes.
- Taash is also burdened by their relationship with their mother, someone who might not approve of them being non-binary. When Taash opens up about these issues, choose the supportive responses that nudge toward independence and acceptance.
Taash's personal quests
We've got a list of Taash's personal quests:
- Fire on the Sands
- A Little Dragon Hatches
- Slaying the Fangscorcher
- Kataranda the Storm Rider
- Lair of the Dragon King
- Words of Fire
Taash's commitment conversation
You can take your Taash romance in Dragon Age: The Veilguard to the next level when you get a quest called A Little Dragon Hatches. This is a fairly short sequence, since it involves a conversation. When prompted, reply with: Commitment - "She cares for you. So do I."
Note that the other two responses will lead Taash to lean more toward Qunari or Rivaini culture. These might sound good on paper, but they'll actually cause you to break off romantic ties. Remember that Taash's plight heavily involves finding their true identity independent of others. Trying to nudge them toward a cultural norms at this moment is a bad idea.
There's also one more caveat. In our playthrough, we avoided completing A Little Dragon Hatches so we can see just how far we can put off commitment in the campaign. However, when we finished a main quest called Fire and Ice, this personal quest disappeared. Taash's heart icon in the menu also disappeared. As it stands, you may need to commit to a relationship with Taash a lot earlier, which means foregoing all flirting attempts with other companions. Conversely, you can still choose to be friends, since the commitment conversations with your other teammates might not pop up until later in the game.
That does it for our guide on how to romance Taash in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. For more tips and tactics, you can visit our Dragon Age: The Veilguard guides hub.
