'You inspire me!': Adam Duvall signs Topps baseball card for diabetic baseball player

Former Cincinnati Reds outfielder Adam Duvall signed a baseball card with a special message and sent a video for a young baseball player who, like Duvall, has Type 1 diabetes.

Topps tweeted Monday that Avery collects cards of professional baseball players who are diabetic, including Duvall, who is Avery's favorite player.

The Topps tweet added that the company told Duvall about Avery, and Duvall responded by signing a Topps card, with the inscription, "Avery, You inspire me! Adam Duvall."

Duvall, who played for the Reds from 2015 to 2018 and was an All-Star in 2016, also sent Avery a video, which included the message, "Hopefully one day, I'll be collecting your cards."

Duvall is a free agent who played last season for the Atlanta Braves. He reportedly turned down an offer in March to play for the Kansas City Royals.
