Why Jose Luis Ballester opted to pee in Rae's Creek at The Masters instead of a bathroom

Jose Luis Ballester rankled a lot of golf fans on Thursday at the 2025 Masters, and not just because of his upside-down hat choice.

The Spanish amateur who plays for Arizona State had to, well, use the bathroom while playing at the famed Amen Corner, and he decided to go in the famed Rae's Creek.

Now: we've all been there, right, golfers? You're out for a round, you can't find the bathroom that might be a few holes ahead, so you "look for your ball in the woods" or "check your phone off to the side" or something.

But desecrating a part of Augusta will not make people happy (see below). So why did he do it?

Per the Augusta Chronicle: “Well, I completely forgot that we had those restrooms to the left of the tee box.”
