Who will Tennessee basketball play in 2025 March Madness Sweet 16?

Tennessee (29-7) will play in its third consecutive NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 under head coach Rick Barnes. The Vols advanced to the 2025 Sweet 16 after defeating No. 7 seed UCLA (23-11), 67-58, in the second round at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.

Tennessee is a No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region. The Vols also defeated Wofford, 77-62, in the first round.

On Sunday in a Midwest Region second round game, No. 3 seed Kentucky defeated No. 6 seed Illinois, 84-75. The Wildcats advance to play Tennessee in the Sweet 16.

Tennessee will face Kentucky on Friday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Kentucky defeated the Vols two times during the regular season. Tennessee lost to the Wildcats, 78-73, on Jan. 28 at Food City Center. The second contest was a, 75-64, win for Kentucky over the Vols at Rupp Arena on Feb. 11.
