What is the Titans' biggest remaining need?
The Tennessee Titans front office has a lot to do this offseason, and it started with free agency last week. Well, technically it started when the 2024 season ended, but I digress. The Titans began making moves during free agency, bringing in some offensive line help, re-signing key players, letting a few players go out of necessity, etc. They still have a lot of work to do, but CBS Sports says the Titans' biggest remaining need is for an edge rusher.
Tennessee's collection of pass rushers (Arden Key, Ali Gaye, etc.) leaves a lot to be desired after allowing Harold Landry to depart. The Titans sit at No. 1 overall with Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter available. However, the team could also draft Miami quarterback Cam Ward and opt to punt on addressing edge rusher until No. 33 overall or later.
The Titans absolutely need help on the edge, along with several other positions. But as far as the biggest need? Pretty sure their biggest need is a quarterback. Will Levis is the starting quarterback as of right now, but it's been made clear that he will have to fight for a starting spot in 2025. And if Brandon Allen is meant to be his competition, well, the Titans are no better off than they were in 2024.
In 2024, Dennard Wilson had the Titans' defense sitting at the top of the rankings. The edge was practically nonexistent, but that didn't stop them from performing. The Titans' biggest problem last season was their offensive line and a lack of a consistent quarterback. They addressed the offensive line during free agency, but Brandon Allen is unlikely to be the next Titans quarterback.
The Titans have many needs, which makes it hard to narrow down which need is the biggest. A solid edge rusher is absolutely needed on defense, but is it the biggest need? That's debatable.
